Saved by meditation

There’s a story in the Times today about a migrant worker who saved his life with meditation. 52 year-old Wang Jianxin was working on a construction site in Ningbo when he was buried alive by falling earth.

Luckily, his safety helmet created a space for some air. He made it last by using meditation techniques to slow his breathing and remain calm. He was rescued after being entombed for two hours.

So, for all the talking we do here about the utility of various martial arts… maybe meditation will be more useful in the end!
